S.L. (Sara Louise) Card lives on beautiful Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada. Always passionate about animals and nature, she studied biology and geology as an undergraduate then went on to specialize in wildlife conservation. After a brief career as a field biologist she began doing interpretive work with children's groups, sort of a Bill Nye meets the Kratt Brothers. Now, when she's not reading or writing, or trying to get in one more pull up, you can usually find her outdoors, often with spiders in her hair (for some reason spiders always find her hair). She lives in a crooked old farmhouse affectionately known as Tumbledown Cottage with her veterinarian husband, 16-year-old son and many furry family members. She writes about young people changing their world.
